What will investors watch in the stock market on October 24, 2022? Early morning economic data out of Germany and the Eurozone could sway sentiment. German manufacturing and services PMI data comes out just before U.S. premarket trading. Eurozone Manufacturing & Services PMI, along with UK Composite, Manufacturing, & Services PMI, get released as Monday’s premarket opening bell rings, starting at 4 AM ET.

Matters to be discussed at the closed meeting include “Review and determination by the Board of Governors of the advance and discount rates to be charged by the Federal Reserve Banks.”

What will investors watch in the stock market on October 25, 2022? While it is a lighter day (for now), more German economic data is due out with Business Expectations, Current Assessment, and October’s IFO Business Climate Index. Shortly after U.S. markets open, CB Consumer Confidence data gets reported at 10 AM ET while the market awaits a 1:55 PM ET speaking engagement from the Fed’s Waller.

What will investors watch in the stock market on October 26, 2022? Another quiet day of data (for now), nevertheless, there are several US economic data points to consider. September’s Goods Trade Balance, Retail Inventories, & New Home Sales figures will be reported. We’ll also see commodities in focus as crude inventories come out at 10:30 AM ET.

What will investors watch in the stock market on October 27, 2022? Thursday marks another busy day for global economic data and monetary policy events. Eurozone deposit facility rate data gets reported at 8:15 AM ET. But that may be secondary to the ECB’s monetary policy statement and interest rate decision around the same time. Investors may look to see how global central banks are addressing inflation and a potential recession.
US September Core Durable Goods Orders come out at 8:30 AM ET, with preliminary Q3 GDP data and initial jobless claims coming in tandem. More potential ECB-originated catalysts could also be on the menu, with the ECB’s press conference beginning at 8:45 AM ET and ECB President Lagarde speaking shortly after.

What will investors watch in the stock market on October 28, 2022? German CPI and preliminary Q3 GDP data come out as the US premarket session begins at 4 AM ET. This could give more insight into the bigger picture on a potential recession.
US September PCE, Core PCE, and Personal Spending figures will be the final bit of economic data out before the US markets open. During the morning’s regular trading hours, the market will get a flavor of consumer outlook. Michigan Consumer Expectations for October get released. The data will come in toe with Pending Home Sales figures, followed by the Baker Hughes rig count later in the afternoon.
